CORPORATE TAX
Compliance
Friend LLP provides businesses with a comprehensive corporate tax compliance service, including preparing tax computations and returns, tax provisions for financial statements and advice on the amount and timing of tax payments.
Compliance and reporting has become increasingly complex, with ever-changing requirements. Friend LLP takes care of all aspects of our clients’ compliance work, allowing them to retain focus on their core business. We typically act as the main point of contact with tax authorities on our clients’ behalf, again helping them to maintain focus on their overall business strategy.
Tax compliance is at the heart of our tax service and your tax compliance will be undertaken and overseen by the same people who advise you on your overall tax affairs.
This enables us to spot opportunities to make your tax affairs more efficient and to ensure that your tax returns adequately and appropriately reflect any tax advice given to you.
We believe that this differentiates us in our market place from many of our competitors, particularly in the larger firms, for whom tax compliance is a commodity product to be produced as cheaply as possible, possibly offshore or in distant “compliance factories” in order to maximise their own profitability.
We deal regularly with HM Revenue & Customs and enjoy a good working relationship with them. As a result, our clients benefit from relatively low levels of tax enquiries, giving them more time to focus on running their businesses.
Advisory
Our approach is to work with you to understand your business, your attitudes and your objectives so that we can be best placed to advise you on tax strategies that will benefit you and your business. Where we are your tax compliance advisers, this will dovetail with the compliance process. If not, we will work with your compliance advisers to obtain this understanding.
We know that, for many of our clients, corporation tax and personal taxes are equally important, since both reduce the net wealth and income of the shareholders. For that reason, our personal and corporate tax specialists work as part of the same team, ensuring that our recommendations benefit all of the stakeholders of a business and that both personal and corporate objectives are met.
Finally, tax advice does not stop once we have provided the advice. We will work with you and your other advisers, such as financial or legal advisers and, where appropriate, HMRC, to implement the advice properly and professionally. This is essential, as HMRC will often challenge the implementation of tax saving ideas where they can’t challenge the accuracy of the advice itself.
